Kiwanis DTC is a Model Club for the Kiwanis International Global Project of eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide by the end of 2015. Kiwanis International has partnered with UNICEF to deliver tetanus vaccine to remote and rural communities where children are dying at the rate of 1 every 9 minutes from this deadly disease that is caused by tetanus spores in the ground. Just $1.80 for three rounds of vaccinations can prevent these deaths to mothers and their infants. As of October 2015 the Club has fulfilled and surpassed its Model Club commitment, with the Club and its members having contributed over $25,000 to this project.
We are happy to announce that Kiwanis International reached the fundraising goal, raising US$110 million in cash and pledges since 2010.
