Get to know more about the Kiwanis Club of DTC
Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children.
We envision a world where all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.
Kiwanis DTC was charted in 1985 under the leadership of John Elliott and Fred Mattson.
On January 10, 1986, the charter Dinner took place and the DTC Kiwanis Club was off and running. For most of its existence, the Club included an average of about 25-30 members. As a result of its growth in recent years, the Club currently has about 35 members, including the two original members who are still active.
At the 2016 District Convention, Kiwanis DTC was recognized as the Club that Has the Most Fun and May Forhan, member and secretary, was named Best Kiwanian. The Club is also an ELIMINATE Model Club which is dedicated to eliminating neonatal tetanus worldwide.
Kiwanis DTC’s Board of Directors consists of five Officers and four Directors. The Kiwanis DTC Foundation is governed by the Officers and Directors. Programs and Committees of the Club include, Youth Programs, Service, Social, Fundraising, and Membership.
Kiwanis DTC is an affiliate of Kiwanis International and a part of the Rocky Mountain District, which includes Colorado, Wyoming and the panhandle of Nebraska.
